RULES FOR VISITORS

Just like at other NASCAR events, guests attending the Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway are expected to follow all guidelines set by the event organizers. Below is a general overview of key policies to help you prepare for race day:

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED?

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, Richmond Raceway does not allow the following items inside the facility. All guests are subject to security screening upon entry. Items listed below will be denied at the gate and may be confiscated if brought inside:

  • Aerosol cans (except sunscreen, sunblock, hand sanitizer, and bug spray)
  • Any firearm
  • Balloons
  • Beach balls
  • Bicycles (including electric bicycles)
  • Collapsible chairs
  • Confederate flag display
  • Coolers (foam or hard-sided, regardless of size)
  • Dry ice
  • Electric bicycles (EVs)
  • Fireworks
  • Frisbees
  • Glass or ceramic containers
  • Hover boards
  • Illegal substances of any kind
  • Knives longer than 3 inches when closed or 6 inches when open
  • Laser pointers
  • Monopods (solid or collapsible)
  • Noise makers and air horns
  • Obscene or indecent clothing
  • Projectiles of any kind (e.g., frisbees, balloons, beach balls)
  • Roller skates
  • Seat cushions with metal components
  • Selfie sticks
  • Skateboards
  • Tripods (solid or collapsible)
  • Umbrellas
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones
  • Utility tools with knife blades longer than 3 inches
  • Wagons

If security finds any prohibited items during bag check, guests will need to return them to their vehicle or throw them away. Illegal items may be confiscated, and anyone in violation of the law could be subject to arrest. Richmond Raceway reserves the right to change its list of allowed and banned items at any time before or during race weekend.

WHAT CAN YOU BRING WITH YOU?

Guests are allowed to bring the following items into Richmond Raceway. Please note that all items are subject to inspection at the gate:

  • A combination of any permitted items is allowed, except soft-sided coolers, which are limited to one per guest
  • Backpacks, diaper bags, clutch bags, and fanny packs (maximum size: 18"x18"x14")
  • Cameras, binoculars, scanners, and headsets (may be worn around the neck, on a belt, or carried in a clear bag)
  • Cigarettes and lighters
  • Clear bags with pre-packaged and sealed food or beverage items, including alcoholic beverages (no glass containers)
  • Ice
  • iPads, tablets, and laptop computers
  • Insulated cups (maximum size: 64 oz)
  • Nationality flags attached to a pencil-sized wooden stick (must not obstruct other fans' views)
  • One soft-sided cooler per person (maximum size: 14"x14"x14")
  • Seat cushions without metal components
  • Service animals
  • Sunscreen, sunblock, hand sanitizer, and bug spray (in aerosol, gel, or liquid form)
