Before heading to the track, it’s a good idea to know what to expect at the gates. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a returning fan, being prepared can help your race day go smoothly. From bag checks and ticket tips to parking options, here’s what you need to know to make your arrival easy and stress-free.
All bags and personal belongings will be inspected at the entrance. It's important to check the official list of permitted and prohibited items before heading to the track. This covers things like coolers, snacks, drinks, and fan gear. If you're unsure about an item, it’s safest to leave it at home. Anything that doesn’t meet the rules may be confiscated and will not be returned. In more serious cases, you could be denied entry or face restrictions at future events.
A valid ticket is required to enter the speedway. The most convenient method is to store your digital ticket on your phone, but bringing a printed copy as a backup is a smart precaution in case of any technical issues. Some gates may check tickets selectively, so have yours ready even if it's not scanned right away.
Buying tickets online is quick and easy, and it’s the best way to make sure you get the spot you want. Popular options like reserved grandstand seats or premium sections can sell out early, so it's best to book ahead. Ticket types usually include general admission, reserved seating, and hillside or natural viewing areas.
Richmond Raceway offers both free and paid parking close to the track.
