ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES (ADA)

Richmond Raceway is dedicated to ensuring an enjoyable and accessible experience for all guests. A range of services is available to support fans with disabilities throughout race weekend, helping everyone make the most of their visit.

Seating

Accessible seating is available in several areas, including the Veranda and Dogwood Grandstands, as well as in the Mezzanine and Tower sections of the Commonwealth Grandstand. These locations include a wheelchair-accessible space and the option to purchase companion seating.

Parking

Handicapped parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis near Gates 2, 4, 6, and the Service Gate. A valid handicap parking permit must be clearly displayed on the vehicle’s rearview mirror for quick entry and access.

Preferred gate routes

  • Gate 2: From Laburnum Avenue West via 360, turn right into Gate 2. From Laburnum Avenue East, turn left.
  • Gate 6: From I-295, take Meadowbridge Road, turn left on Carolina Avenue, then right into Gate 6.
  • Service gate: From Laburnum Avenue West via 360, turn right onto Richmond-Henrico Turnpike, then right into the gate.

Assistance carts

A fleet of mobility assistance carts is available to help guests with disabilities travel between designated guest services tents and key areas around the property. These carts accommodate one disabled guest and one companion. Carts do not access individual campsites or specific parking spaces.

  • Before the race, Carts travel along defined transportation routes and stop at guest services tents near key entry points.
  • After the race, Carts pick up from select gates (Virginia is for Lovers Frontstretch Gate, Gate 40 at Turn 1, and Gate 70 at Turn 4) and transport guests to the outer edge of the parking lots. Due to post-race traffic, carts do not enter parking areas or campgrounds at this time.

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are located throughout the facility. Family/unisex restrooms can be found in the Dogwood Tower, Veranda Grandstands, and the Commonwealth Tower and Mezzanine.

Wheelchairs and personal mobility devices

Guests may bring their own wheelchairs or personal mobility devices. Richmond Raceway also allows electric mobility devices that are specifically designed and commercially manufactured for use by individuals with disabilities.
