Welcome!
Richmond International Raceway is in a nutshell… NASCAR racing perfection! Built in 1946, Richmond started as a half mile dirt track. In 1968 the track was paved and made way for a whole new line of cars to race through.
It was reconfigured after the 1988 season and in 1991 had its first race under lights.
A short track that features speedway style racing, Richmond International Speedway uniquely allows for drivers to race side-by-side, lap after lap for position.
Now a ¾ mile track, in a ‘D’ oval, the course provides for 14 degrees of banking in the turns, 8 degrees on the front D, and quick 2 degrees on the backstretch.
The great racing and fan-friendly track make this a must-see for any NASCAR fan. Richmond International Raceway is one of the great places in all of NASCAR to watch a race in person!
